Description
IBM SPSS Modeler-based machine-learning system that generates predictive decision-tree rules from historical immigration decisions, sorting temporary resident visa applications into three processing tiers with dramatically different approval rates.
Deployment Context
Deployed by IRCC since April 2018 to triage Temporary Resident Visa applications. Initially applied only to China and India applications; expanded to all overseas TRV applications in January 2022, then to Visitor Records and Family Class Spousal applications. Over 7 million applications assessed.
